  2. Oliver Berkes – Lighthouse
  3. Deniz – Ide várlak vissza
  4. Barni Hamar – Wasted

  6. Nomád – A remény hídjai
  7. Gergô Oláh – Hozzád bújnék
  8. Rozina Pátkai – Freedom
  9. Gergo Szeker – Madár, repülj!
  10. Laszlai Bárai – Someone Who Lives Like This

Heat 2 – Jan 26th

  1. David Heatlie – La Mama Hotel
  2. The Middletonz – Roses
  3. Klara Hajdu – You’re Gonna Rise
  4. Gothi – Csak 1 perc
  5. Acoustic Planet – Nyári zápor
  6. Fatal Error – Kulcs
  7. Bence Vavra – Szótlanság
  8. Dayana – Little Bird
  9. The Sign – Ô
  10. yesyes – Incomplete

Heat 3 – Feb 2nd

To my western ears, Diana, Leander Kills and even Salvus’ melodic rock sound the most appealing in 30-second form. 2017 winner, Joci Pápai, is perhaps too gentle to take the win this time, but his support base should be respected.

The heats typically start towards the end of January. We’ll add more info as soon as it is available.

yesyes might be at the business end of things here. Some other talented singers mixed in where we need full songs

  2. I’ve deliberately avoided A Dal, because I just couldn’t face the prospect of wading through 30 songs. But finally I dipped a toe in the water and from what I’ve heard so far the quality this year is very high indeed (makes you wonder why many countries struggle to field even one decent song).

I’ve no idea who is going to win but there a number of songs that would enhance Eurovision. The best I’ve heard to date is Rozina Patkai – Frida, although for an A Dal winner we are probably looking elsewhere.

  3. What to make of the Semi 1 result? I didn’t watch it live, so no doubt some of it will have come down to performance and staging in a relatively even field. Nevertheless, Oliver Berkes not qualifying is a big surprise. I thought that Lighthouse gave Hungary its best chance of a Eurovision top 5 al a Michael Shulte but the juries in particular (who I gather had 80% of the vote) didn’t fancy it.

It would seem the best chance of succeeding in A Dal 2019 is rock or rap and avoiding singing in English. I’m starting to get worried for The Middletonz.
