This is another esoteric entry from Lithuania that seems to lack a coherent melody or any reason to vote for it
Lithuania’s selection process for 2017 felt like it started sometime before last year’s Eurovision. It just went on and on and on.
Anyway, the end arrived tonight and Fusedmarc won the chance to represent their nation with the song, Rain of Revolution.
Despite better quality videos being circulated in the comments section below, the fact remains that this is another esoteric entry from Lithuania that seems to lack a coherent melody or any reason to vote for it. It confuses in the same way Attention did in 2014, which was their first non-qualification since 2010. The “yeah yeah…” chorus is just a collection of noise to fill a gap the writers were too lazy to develop. In short, it’s a mess.
Then there’s the vocals, which are breathy, shouty and not likely to attract support from the international juries. Therefore, Lithuania are reliant on their diaspora to push them over the line in what is an open semi-final. Even with their diaspora, it’s difficult to see Lithuania scraping through without major improvements to the song and presentation. One to keep an eye one.
Are Lithuania relying on their diaspora?
