Our current market leaders are Sweden, Austria, Netherlands and United Kingdom. Looking at that order, I think we can rule Sweden out for topping the jury tally. I think the other Nordic nations would have been nearer the end of the order if Sweden were to win the contest.

Austria & Netherlands do have allies towards the back of the order, but with one or two Eastern nations there too, I think it’s Netherlands that has done the better of the two.

United Kingdom would also do well in Austria, Belgium and maybe the two PIGS nations, Italy & Spain. I could also argue that Ukraine and Georgia have ranked the UK’s Power to the People narrative entry highly owing to their recent Russian troubles.

So inline with my forecast bets yesterday, I think we’re in for a UK/Netherlands storm.

  1. Slovenia last… they traditionally score Austria highly don’t they?

    • yes just done a quick check and both Switzerland and Slovenia have been quite Austrian friendly in recent years… looks like the beard for the win to me.

  2. Ireland ,Uk ,Belgium and Spain have been the ones to give Austria points when they had decent songs. They all vote towards the end.Id be very worried that Austria were going to come late and fast. They themselves vote late though as well so hard to see why they are there.Likely its to provide the fanboys with feeling of joy that she might just make it and their spokeswoman Kati to be excited.

Early doors Ukraine might be in front with Russia with viewers gasping at that fact.Great TV.

Id be very tempted to lay Austria after Spain vote if they are 12 points in front or less.

The last 8 countries voting really does say its the UK/Netherlands have this.

Iv now got them both exactly the same green on the win, with NL higher on the place side.

From a patriotic side id of course want the UK.However i hope the Dutch win.The staging is just so incredible. It shows you what can be done with just three chords. It would also signal a new dawn for ESC.

One thing of note this year is the way the EBU have shafted the Eastern Block. That is a 100% certain message to them.If you dont stop trying to cheat in the contest youl never win again. We can negate your cheating so stop it or fail.

Its been a tough year and hard work, but one thats turned out highly lucrative so far.I hope everyone has a profitable night tonight.

    1/2Netherlands,.UK, /// 3/4.Austria,Ukraine.

    • Oh and iv dutched Slovenia and France in the handicap at Bet365, with a saver on Switzerland.
Tinkara has served me well so im hoping she can do it one last time.
The handicap is always more of a punt, but a fun way to play songs you really like that are outsiders.

  3. Because I personally believe the jury vote to have been between Netherlands and UK, I took a look at the voting order and worked out which countries gave Netherlands more than 6 points in 2013, and UK in 2009. This isn’t ideal but neither country usually does particularly well.

    Netherlands: 6, 13, 16, 18, 23, 24, 27, 28, 30, 32, 37
    UK: 2, 4, 9, 11, 15, 20, 22, 27, 31, 34

If they are following the previous pattern of attempting to hide a country’s success early on, with them peaking around 3/4 of the way through, it looks good for Netherlands.

This could mean nothing of course, especially as I haven’t looked at any of the other potential jury winners.
