Five-Way Contest In Spain

Yesterday (20th January), Spanish broadcaster TVE announced that five acts would fight it out to represent Spain in Copenhagen. The acts, and their songs, are as follows:

BrequetteMás (Run) (Tony Sánchez/Thomas G:son)

Jorge GonzálezAunque se acabe el mundo (Kiko Rodríguez/Bruno Nicolás/Leticia Fuentes/María José Fernández

La DamaEstrella fugaz (Melendi)

RaúlSeguir sin ti (William Luque/Domingo Sánchez)

Ruth LorenzoDancing In The Rain (Ruth Lorenzo/Jim Irvin/Julian Emery)

Ruth Lorenzo will be best-known to British viewers after her 5th place in X-Factor in 2008. Disappointingly, Raúl is not the former Real Madrid and Spain striker, but an experienced singer who last tried to represent Spain at Eurovision back in 2000.

What do you think of the Spanish selection?

  1. Thomas G:Son in every Eurovision year is like Where’s Wally. You just know he’ll pop up somewhere.
